We had a really good time in the beer garden. The setup is spacious, with comfortable seats, roomy tables, and plenty of large umbrellas. Yesterday, we finally needed them for shade instead of rain. A few smokers were thoughtful enough to move away from the people eating, which was very much appreciated. The beer selection was broad, tasty, and reasonably priced for a change. I even brought home a couple of mixed packs, and was pleased with the amount and quality of the takeaway beer. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, and the staff spoke very good English too. I enjoyed my meal and the open salad bar. My brother-in-law thought the food was average, though taste is personal. The playground slide, where you sit on a beer crate and roll down a ramp, was a hit with the kids. They should make one for grown-ups too! For 10 adults and two young children, ages 3 and 6, we paid €255, including several beers and coffees.

The room was large, but the beds were awful, squeaky and uncomfortable. With no air conditioning and curtains that let in the early morning light, we had a really unpleasant night. The hotel itself is nice, with a very good restaurant serving typical German food and a great swimming pool.

After a full day of driving, the refreshing saltwater pool was such a treat, and the kids loved it. It was much nicer than a chlorine pool. We stayed in the family suite, which was excellent, with fantastic beds, and the restaurant food was amazing. The playground kept the kids happy, while the adults enjoyed the beer. It’s also a lovely part of Germany to walk around, and a great place for a family visit to Lego land. One of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in for a long time. DANKE DANKE DANKE

Westside FC from Vancouver, Canada, had a wonderful two-night stay in Autenried. Our group of 29 was well looked after, and we had a great time with the staff and locals. The rooms were clean and well maintained, and the staff were helpful with any special requests. Thank you VERY MUCH!
