Aparthotel Orchidea

The service was fantastic, and the room was beautiful.

We managed to check in within ten minutes after arriving spontaneously with our baby, which was a relief. The room was a five-minute walk from check-in, and there was no parking right outside. Getting all our luggage up to room 10 was a challenge: it was on the top floor under the roof, with no elevator or air conditioning. The room itself was tiny, the bed too small for two, and there wasn't space for a travel cot. We had already paid 72 euros, so changing the booking wasn't an option. After an exhausting day, we were glad to get a few hours of sleep. I'd only suggest these rooms for solo travelers who want a central spot and don't mind noise.

Breakfast was overpriced and served at the other hotel, with almost nothing to choose from and no vegan or vegetarian buffet. The rolls were completely dry. They might do better to buy local from the baker or butcher next door. Our ground-floor room was right by a busy street and the main intersection, with huge windows facing the sidewalk. In 26-degree heat we couldn't open them for long. We managed to doze off with one slightly ajar, but tractors and trucks started roaring past by 4 a.m. The bathroom tap was half detached and barely usable. Cleaning had been missed in places too, with dead flies and dust under the radiator. Absolutely awful.

The apartments were modern, clean, and nicely furnished. The street outside could be noisy if you're sensitive to that. Otherwise, a lovely stay, with a pizzeria, Greek restaurant, and kebab place just a short walk away.
