Check-in was easy, and the receptionist was nice and helpful. The room was clean, though the mattresses really weren't the best. Breakfast was better than standard for this price range, which positively surprised us. Fine for a quick stopover.

For a standard German 3-star hotel, the price is moderate. The room was clean and the furniture in good condition, parking was plentiful, breakfast acceptable, and the free WiFi very fast. Ilmenau isn't exactly a hot spot, but I really can't fault the hotel. If you're staying overnight in town, book here and you won't regret it.
