Gästehaus Barbara Schwaiger

We’ve stayed with Barbara three times now and always feel at home. It’s warm, quiet and peaceful, and she’s happy to help with travel information. We especially enjoyed breakfast with homemade milk. The tourist card gave us free access to the pool, sauna and ski lifts. The location is excellent, and we’ll definitely return. Thanks for everything.

There are some good practical points here: the location is quiet, the beds are good, there’s a guest refrigerator and a large wardrobe, and you can choose daily room cleaning or privacy. Parking is right in front of the house. The Schwaiger family’s home is well kept, though it’s showing its age, and the atmosphere felt friendly but also rather domineering. We came to Inzell after seeing the appealing website and positive reviews, but the photos online set expectations that weren’t quite met. Our room felt cluttered and hard to move around in. The narrow balcony looked over meadows rather than mountains, which disappointed us. The small bathroom could be difficult for older or less mobile guests. There’s a strong decorative style throughout, so people who like lots of knick-knacks may feel at home. Breakfast was good quality, with bakery rolls, butcher’s sausage and fresh cheese, but having to state the amount of each item the day before was inconvenient. The portions of rolls, sliced sausage and cheese, and fruit were measured out precisely each day. We’d have liked some bread alongside the rolls. Packaged whole-grain bread or crispbread would have been enough.

The hostess had useful suggestions for places to visit and eat, and breakfast was excellent, with regional treats and something different each day. We spent 10 days at Gästehaus Schwaiger and were delighted with our clean, nicely furnished room. We felt very comfortable. Thanks again for the warm hospitality.

We found the landlady very friendly and helpful, and the apartment was very well furnished. The guesthouse worked well as a base for our holiday, with two grocery stores an easy walk away and some bakeries opening as early as 6 a.m. Spiders can sometimes get busy in the apartment faster than you’d like, but I suppose that comes with being in the countryside.
