The staff were super friendly, and that was the best schnitzel ever!!!!

My beer soup was completely inedible. It tasted like scalded canned milk, sweet with a bitter aftertaste. My husband's schnitzel had a huge, thick layer of sweet mustard sauce on it. The people were nice and it was busy, so maybe we happened to order the worst things.

We've stayed at the Goldener Stern several times, including for a few days at a time. It's a wonderful old house that's been renovated very well, right in the middle of the medieval town. Our rooms have varied from a small one with a fully renovated bathroom to a very spacious one. Everything is decorated with care, and the host is warm and friendly. There's a romantic garden, cosy restaurant, tasty draft beer, and hearty Franconian food.

The crispy pork knuckle was excellent, and the portions were huge. The Wiener Schnitzel was impressively large too, and everything tasted great and seemed freshly prepared. We ate here on a Tuesday and were surprised the restaurant was so full. After trying the food, we understood why. We'll definitely come back.
