The place has a fancy look, and there’s space outside to walk the dog if needed. The staff were friendly, and our dog was given water straight away. The food was okay, though it could be better. I ordered vegetarian soup, but unfortunately it came with fish. Compared with the last few years, the price and quality don’t seem as well matched anymore.

If you’re planning to stay at the hotel, it’s a good choice. It’s clean and comfortable, though it seems a little dated, and it works well for a business trip. The hotel is outside town, about 2.5 km away, and the walk there isn’t especially appealing. It’s very close to the highway and has plenty of parking. Breakfast was good, with the option to sit outside. We were there on a Monday, when the town had little going on, so it may be worth checking which restaurants are open before heading in.

The room was spacious, but the wicker furniture felt very worn and wasn’t the kind of thing I’d want in a hotel. The red carpet had some ugly marks, and the bed was okay but felt a bit saggy. The bathroom was warm and good, though its taps could use replacing. It’s clearly an older hotel, but you can see they take care of the property and the details. It was nicely decorated for Christmas while I was there, and check-in was easy. Breakfast is worth having, with a good range of food laid out nicely, and the staff were very friendly. Good value for money if you’re fine with an older room setup.

The rooms were my main issue. Ours seemed like a single room with an extra bed squeezed in, leaving only about 30 cm to get from the entrance to the far end. My partner is blind and found that pretty inconvenient. I know two wedding parties were happening at once, so this room setup may have been unusual. The hotel itself isn’t to blame for the other reception getting a bit unruly, and the staff had to pass through our event to serve that party, which felt a little odd but wasn’t a major problem. Even so, it was one of the best weddings I’ve attended: the setting was beautiful, with a lovely outdoor area, and the food, attentive service, and reception were amazing and professional. I feel a bit mean giving only three stars, but I have to reflect my own experience.
