Commundo Tagungshotel Ismaning

The hotel is spacious and close to Munich Airport, but the subway station is around a ten-minute walk. The elevator only reaches the third floor, so getting to the fourth means some extra effort, which is inconvenient. Breakfast was quite good, though the restaurant’s dinner choices are limited. If you have a car, renting it is a good option.

The Commundo is a good place to stop even if you’re only passing through. My one-night stay was quiet and restful, without the usual hustle and bustle, and the service at arrival and departure was excellent. The hotel is conveniently located near Munich. The catering is run by someone else, and it takes a little getting used to, especially if you’re already tired of pasta.

The staff are friendly, and the breakfast is plentiful and decent. I especially look forward to the white sausages, and the location is handy for trips to Munich and the Arena. But after several stays, I’ve noticed the quality slipping. The rooms and elevator have become much less clean, and both the rooms and atmosphere now feel like a youth hostel. The special rates are just about acceptable, but the regular price no longer seems justified.

The location is quiet, right by the S8, convenient if you’re arriving at the airport, and there’s free parking in the large underground garage. Still, the Commundo conference hotel was disappointing. Service was below average across the board, the prices were too high, and the food was cafeteria quality. Our seminar room had no air conditioning, which was rough with 40 people in there in summer. Wi-Fi was only through a T-Mobile hotspot and didn’t work in the room. There was free wired LAN at the tiny desk.
