Haus Inselrose Juist

The location is beautiful, but sitting on the terrace can feel uncomfortable because the neighboring apartment’s rooms and windows are right beside it. Inside, the rooms are stylish, though the very dirty carpet was a letdown. We paid €140 a night for Sandröschen with a dog, linen package, and final cleaning, and at that price I expected much better upkeep. The sink was broken, and only two of the four hotplates worked when we arrived. Plaster was peeling off the walls. There was no salad bowl, teapot, or casserole dish, and the pots and pans were warped, so food could burn easily. There weren’t even two wine glasses or two beer tumblers. Guests shouldn’t have to be so flexible for that kind of money. As of July 2021, I suspect there are much better maintained holiday apartments on Juist.

The apartment has a very good location and view, but the pricing details are obscured in the offer. The already high €170 price includes final cleaning, yet the fine print says that rate is for two people only. Every extra person costs another €15, plus a service fee of €100-125 whose purpose isn’t clear.

That lovely view over Juist Harbor was a real highlight, and we felt very comfortable in the house despite a few small issues. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We’ve shared the points we mentioned with WfV as the landlord, and if they’re taken into account, we can wholeheartedly recommend Haus Inselrose.

We’ve visited Juist many times and know a stay can be handled much better. At this rental price, we expected more, even on the island. The weather during our visit was fantastic, which made the problems all the more disappointing. We’ll return to Juist, but not to this place. Cleanliness, hygiene, service, and the furnishings all fell short. It seemed the area under the beds hadn’t been cleaned since the renovation in April, and the rest was pretty spartan. The hallway vacuum mostly blew dust around instead of picking it up. The drain was clogged with hair, and the kitchen had a layer of cooking grease over everything. For an eight-day stay, laundry service wasn’t provided, according to the landlord. The Wi-Fi was down, and even after a technician was called, nothing was done. There was also nowhere to store our bicycles, whether brought along or rented. Those were only the worst issues. A real shame.
