Winkelschiffchen II

The staff were great, and the hotel was wonderful overall. Amazing, amazing, amazing, like the European Maldives. Totally worth it.

We were happy with our family stay at Winkelschiffchen || (Salon apartment), and would return. Having direct access to the garden was especially nice for us with children, and I’d recommend the apartment to other families. Booking and checkout both went smoothly, and the setting is quiet and beautiful. Our one concern was the size: the Salon apartment is in a rather low basement, and didn’t feel spacious enough for six people as advertised.

We felt completely comfortable in the end. The accommodation was clean, tidy, and had everything we needed, though I would have appreciated some tea lights, a lighter for the stove, and checked batteries in the remote. Getting there and picking up the key were easy. We were just a little confused by a call at 3 pm asking where we were, since the email had clearly said we couldn’t get in before 4.

The “Lookout” apartment has a wonderful view over the Wadden Sea, and its large balcony is a great spot for the autumn sun. Inside, it’s clean, modern, and comfortably furnished. The staff were quick, courteous, and very friendly. We’d gladly come back!
