The family who run this place make you feel like one of their own. On my business trips, breakfast with my “new German” family helps when I start missing home. There’s always plenty to choose from, including vegetarian and gluten-free options, cheeses, and meats. The hotel is VERY clean, and the service has been better than I expected on every stay. I’ve been here around 8-10 times over the last 18 months, for stays ranging from one night to two weeks. It’s in a fantastic spot, with lovely walks by the river and great restaurants nearby. I’m a seasoned traveler with high expectations, and this hotel meets them all and goes beyond many. I have a very expensive, high-quality mattress at home because I deal with severe back problems and pain. I do miss it here. The mattresses aren’t bad, they’re good, just not GREAT compared with what I’m used to. That’s a small drawback, not a reason to avoid the hotel. All my trips to Germany have been for work so far. I can’t wait to bring my family here, to see Germany and meet my new German family.

The area around the hotel is worth exploring. If you’re lucky, you can get onto the Lässig Boot grounds by the campsite across the way and watch a motorboat being lowered into the Main. We also enjoyed chatting with the international mix of guests, and #Bigfoot and #Littlefeet had fun playing football on the lawn between the hotel’s two buildings. We had our first stay here for a weekend, and it was easy and pleasant. The room was clean and welcoming, with modern, practical furnishings. The light door with a fly screen was especially nice on hot summer nights, and #Bigfoot and #Littlefeet loved the shower’s big rain-style head. The beds were good too. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely. At first the buffet looked a little limited, but it turned out to be thoughtfully put together, and requests like a fried egg were handled promptly. There were fresh rolls, five-minute eggs and a selection of jams, plus a delicious fruit salad and espresso. One downside: when the wind is wrong, the sewage treatment plant smell can drift over, though it passes. We’d recommend the hotel without reservation. Thanks for a pleasant stay!
