Hotel Ari

In all my years of work travel, these were the cleanest rooms I’ve come across. Each one has a fridge and kettle, which is better than what most hotels offer. The bed was comfortable, and the duvet was so soft I’d love to know where they get them. Staff were very friendly, and the food was better than I expected. I was really impressed with this hotel and hope I can come back.

The beds were fantastic, especially the blankets, and breakfast was just as good. It’s a very clean hotel, warmly decorated and in a quiet neighborhood. The rooms feel somewhat dated, but they’re properly equipped. There’s also a large free parking lot behind the hotel.

The walk up the hill to the castle is a workout, though the air along the way is lovely. The hotel has no in-room coffee or tea setup, but there’s a hallway machine with pretty good coffee and hot chocolate for 50 cents. Our room’s drinks fridge didn’t cool, and breakfast started 15 or 20 minutes later than I’d hoped because the cook had a broken foot and arrived late Sunday morning. The Biergarten is nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

It’s an adequate place to sleep for a night, but I’d look at other options. The room was clean, though the shower door and a drawer were broken, the TV had few channels and no instructions, and a light fixture also needed attention. Staff were okay, without making much effort to be especially helpful or polite. Breakfast came with the room, which I think cost 82 euros, and included cold cuts, brotchen, eggs, bacon, jams, cheeses, and coffee. The restaurant bathroom needed attention too, with spiders in a corner. This isn’t a pretty town with views, just somewhere to stay.
