Limehome Kassel

The apartments are in a very convenient location and have nice, modern furniture, but that doesn’t help if you can’t get inside. The limehome entrance uses an electronic device that should unlock the door when you enter the code. The code and instructions arrived smoothly, and it worked once when I checked in during the early afternoon to leave my luggage. After I went out and returned late at night, it wouldn’t open, leaving me locked out without my luggage, phone chargers or other things. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. The support team is available 24/7 by telephone only. Everyone I spoke to was friendly, but they were no help at all. I had to find another hotel in the city that night. The next morning I had to wait outside without knowing how long it would take for the special service to open the door. I begged the support team to call me back with an update on the unlocking time and other booking details, but they never did. I had to call limehome myself. Each call was extremely frustrating: at least five minutes to reach someone, then another five minutes explaining the case to yet another employee. For situations like this, I suggest assigning one person to contact the visitor. Since I was travelling for business, my employer had to intervene before the refund of all the bills was finally clarified. Also, there was no toilet paper, so I give the room 4 stars. If you still want to visit, be prepared.

Prices seemed fair for what we got. The check-in and check-out process worked smoothly as described, and using my mobile phone wasn’t a problem. We were also well placed for documenta, though there was construction nearby this year and street noise, which wasn’t the vendor’s fault. Our room, 3.20, was clean, spacious enough and adequately equipped. We cooked simple things and found what we needed, including coffee, tea, salt and pepper. We even used the balcony for breakfast. It’s a good place to stay in Kassel, close to the central station and tram.

A complete disaster. The door system failed, and at midnight we couldn’t get into the room. Lime support was absolutely useless, so we had to look for another hotel in the middle of the night. The next day we waited outside the apartment for hours until someone came to open it and let us collect our belongings. We will never book Lime anywhere again!

There’s no sign out front, and the place just looks like an apartment building. Once you see it, you’ll understand why they refuse to refund cancellations. You’ll want to cancel.
