Timberjacks Kassel Motel

We ended up at Timberjacks on Valentine’s Day, when nearly everything was booked, but the staff still found us a table right away. We’d spotted it while heading toward the city center of Kassel and decided to stop on the way back. Our waitress was very friendly, spoke good English, and we had a really nice conversation with her. Inside, it has a lively American/Texas feel, with lots of character. The wooden tables and tree-trunk benches look great and suit the theme, though the lack of backrests gets uncomfortable after a while. I had the “Death by Bacon” burger. It was delicious and very filling, and the burgers and steak were full of flavor and well prepared. The homemade vanilla iced tea was especially good. Fries cost quite a bit compared with the rest of the menu, but the prices felt fair for the quality. Sauces are already on the table, which is a nice touch. There’s a huge menu with meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes, lots of drinks, plus plenty of desserts and cakes. The photos we posted only show the burger menu. We were too full to try dessert, though it looked great. There really seems to be something for everyone, and we saw people taking leftovers home, which is handy. The parking lot was packed and had become a muddy mess in the weather. It was hard to get to the entrance without stepping in it, and our shoes got pretty dirty. That could use some attention on busy nights. We left as big fans and even said they should open a branch in the Netherlands. It would do well there. No wonder they have multiple locations in Germany. We’d definitely return.
