Wyndham Garden Kassel

It was awful. The hotel smelled like a sewer and was extremely run-down, with a pool that probably hadn't been there for years. The place didn't look like the pictures or description at all. We had to leave the first room because of mold. The next room was better, but still very dirty, with the previous guest's socks under the bed. It was on the 5th floor and the elevator wasn't working. We tried the other elevator and then understood why, so we used the stairs instead. We were too tired to look for another hotel, but otherwise we would have.

The staff did what they could to make up for the problems, but the breakfast was very disappointing and the hotel felt extremely worn out throughout. This was the worst hotel room I've stayed in outside of Africa. The online photos must be years old or heavily edited, since neither my colleagues nor I found a room that looked like them.

How is this place real? The whole hotel was dirty, with broken facilities and misleading pictures. The sheets and towels weren't clean either, and the place smelled like cigarettes and farts. Worst hotel I've ever stayed at.

The staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast was good. It's a big hotel with very large rooms and a classic rather than modern style. Wi-Fi was pretty unstable during our stay. Parking is available for €8/day.
