Haus Meisenweg 5

We came as six and spent a week in this house booked through the Kohlert agency. At €1000 for a week during the autumn holidays, we expected better, and we came away very disappointed. The house is older and clearly needs some maintenance from the owner. The living and dining area was fine, with reasonably modern furniture, but we didn't like the upstairs. The bathroom under the sloping roof had yellow tiles, and you had to duck to use the toilet. The bedroom mattresses were awful, with every spring noticeable. Back and hip pain kept us from sleeping through even one night, and we were glad to get home to our own beds. Heating didn't work properly in all areas. The windows had locks but no keys, so we couldn't open them to air out the house. Downstairs, the hand shower came off its holder during the night and crashed into the shower. The shelf above the sink was badly crooked, and our toothbrushes kept tipping into the basin. The arborvitae by the driveway need cutting back too. When parked there, it was so cramped we could barely get out of the car, and the online photos are quite out of date.
