Gastehaus Am Vogelsang

The private entrance and roomy space make it good value, and I'd recommend it for the price. Check-in can happen anytime since everything is arranged through a key safe. There's a kettle with coffee and tea, though you'll need to bring your own shower soap.

The room was clean, but cramped, especially the tiny bathroom, and really only worked for sleeping overnight. We reported two problems by email, a broken refrigerator and a bathroom drawer that fell off when opened. The owner came the next day to apologize and was friendly and tried to find a solution. For the fridge, though, all they could provide was a camping cooler with a fan in the lid, and it was noisy enough that we had to switch it off at night. I don't think a room should be offered with a refrigerator when it's already known to be broken. Two stars.

The double room price was reasonable, and every room had a kettle, coffee, and a selection of teas. Still, the first impression was disappointing: one flowerpot was broken and another had weeds growing in it. Cobwebs were in the bathrooms of at least three of the six rooms, and some dishes and cutlery in the larger apartment were dirty.
