The fish was cooked quite well, with crispy skin and tender meat. The tartar was good too, though the ox cheek was tender but too salty for me, and after a few bites it felt too heavy. We also enjoyed the tasty bread and butter, and the tomato oregano popcorn was a fun surprise. The bread, popcorn, and cake were complimentary. It is a bit pricey, but we had a pleasant visit and would like to come back for special occasions.

We’ve always liked the location, restaurant, and service, but the prices now feel much harder to justify. A bottle of Gerolsteiner sparkling water at €9.50 seems completely exorbitant to us, and a glass of regional wine is only available in a 0.1-liter pour for around ten euros. We’re happy to pay fair prices for quality, but we don’t see that value here anymore. It’s a shame, because we’ll probably visit much less often in the future.

Friday evening at The Duck was another mini-vacation for my partner and me. We could talk through a few things beforehand in the quiet, pleasant atmosphere, then enjoyed food that was perfect and exceptionally delicious. The wine recommendation was expert, and the charming, helpful, competent staff clearly love their jobs. The Duck is always a pleasure, and a real insider tip.

The food was excellent, and we had a lovely evening at our Christmas party on Saturday. Our waitress was friendly and competent, keeping the orders straight for all nine of us. I also found the wine list on the tablet particularly interesting.
