Weinfelderhof

Our rooms were cold for almost two days before they warmed up even a little, and the bathrooms were small, dirty, and moldy. The beds hadn't been made when we were shown in, and we had to turn the heating up to 5. The house itself was very cold too, so we had to turn up the radiator in the breakfast room. There were four of us women and we'd booked two double rooms. When we arrived in the evening, the front door was locked and nobody answered our calls. About ten minutes later, the owner cycled up and said he'd forgotten about us. He showed us around, including the breakfast room, which was okay once we had made it warmer. For the breakfast we'd expected, there was only a pot of coffee at first. The owner said we had to pay before he could go get rolls, sausage, and cheese. Mr. Kettner seemed completely overwhelmed with the housework, and even the dishes were dirty.

The breakfast was a mess too: dirty dishes, hardly anything on the table, no milk or sugar, and we had to fetch our own rolls. The eggs only came after we'd finished eating. When the toilet paper ran out, the host said he'd buy some, but left a cut-up paper towel roll outside our room instead. We were four couples and left completely disappointed. When we arrived, the host was in the bathtub, our room was cold with no heating on, and everything felt old and very dirty. I hesitated before writing this, but you shouldn't have to put up with everything. The host was friendly, but clearly overwhelmed and doing everything alone. I don't know why the place was in such a state, but it was completely unacceptable, especially since we paid the full amount. I hope things improve here, because the Moselle region is otherwise great.

The breakfast was a real highlight, and our spacious room had a huge bathroom. The decor felt a bit 90s, but everything was spotless and the bed was very comfortable, which matters more to us than hipster style. It was wonderfully quiet, and the host was super friendly. Simply wonderful! Value for money: six stars 🤩

We had a wonderful weekend at Weinfelderhof. The rooms were cozy and had balconies, and breakfast in the conservatory was superb. The wine tasting was fantastic, with wonderful hosts. We'll definitely be back!
