Storchenhof Paretz

A great place to stay, in a traditional Brandburg farmhouse that’s been beautifully refurbished.

We had a wonderful short break with our two toddlers. The farm had lots of space for them to play, and morning feeding was an adventure for the kids. The Havel River was nearby, and there was plenty to explore in the surrounding area. Thanks to the Storchenhof team!

Feeding the animals each day was one of the highlights, even after we’d left the Stork Farm. Mrs. Hipp was happy to help with other jobs too, like collecting eggs and getting straw or hay ready, which my son enjoyed. Even picking up after the dogs was easy. ;-) My six-year-old son and I decided rather spontaneously to take a break at the Stork Farm. I got a quick written reply and, a few days later, we headed to the farm in Paretz. It’s a peaceful four-sided farmstead between Queen Luise's Palace and the Havel River, which is an easy walk away and has a swimming area. Just idyllic. The farm is family-run, very well kept, and welcoming, with plenty of room for play and the animals. Mrs. Hipp greeted us warmly, along with her two lovely, cuddly dogs. Children can play in the sandpit in the middle of the yard and roam around the whole property. Our apartment was clean and well maintained, and more than enough for the two of us. It had a double bed, an extra bunk bed, a very spacious bathroom, and a kitchen with everything we needed, including a toaster and microwave. The only thing we hadn’t been told in advance was that public parking costs €4 for a day ticket. You can pay by card. Many thanks to Ms. Hipp and her family. I wish them all the best, and I’m sure we’ll see each other again! :-)

The food was outstanding, with lovingly prepared vegan and vegetarian dishes that left nothing to be desired. Our company outing at the Storchenhof, including two overnight stays, turned into a huge celebration that was perfectly organized. The family were warm and welcoming, and we feel lucky to have had such wonderful hosts. Even with our large group, the accommodations worked perfectly. The farm had plenty of space, and the technical equipment supported all our activities well. I highly recommend it.
