Goldener Apfel

We arrived at Weeze airport late after a flight delay, so we took a taxi to Kevelaer. The Art Nouveau building caught my eye, and I booked without hesitation. The room was clean and nice, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were helpful and kind. There was some noise at night from people talking loudly and laughing in Kapellenplatz across the street, but it didn't ruin the stay. The hotel staff told me Kevelaer is a pilgrimage destination, with over a million pilgrims each year. I'd like to come back to see the town's beauty, and I'd stay at Goldenen Apfel again.

My company booked this hotel for me, and I stayed there for a couple of months, going back and forth every week. The rooms were very old and dirty, and I often found the floor unclean. There were no awnings on the upper windows, so with the sun coming in, I couldn't sleep during the day after working nights. Once I came back from work and couldn't find my luggage or my things. Staff had moved them to another room, which didn't have a toilet or a washer. Reception said they moved my things to make things easier for an old customer. If I had to return, I wouldn't choose this hotel.

The bathroom was tiny, and the toilet was too cramped to use comfortably. The room itself was crooked and very old.

The interior is a little dated, but the great service makes up for it.
