Holiday Inn - the niu, Welly Kiel by IHG

The breakfast had an incredible range, pretty much anything you could think of, and felt easily worth three times the price. The whole stay was relaxing, warm, and comfortable. The place was clean and well looked after, and the location near the main station was great. Staff were amazing, especially Mohammad and Shiva, who made things even more comfortable. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. A lovely place to unwind and recharge without any problems. Highly recommended!

The room was fine, but cold, and the air conditioning was loud. Service seemed good at first, and we were given vouchers for drinks and snacks. When we tried to use them, we didn't get the snack, and staff said we'd been given the wrong vouchers. The hotel had emailed us parking information through hotels.com before we arrived, but it was incorrect and we ended up paying more.

It's a clean, modern place with a nice design, and the location is great. The staff are super friendly, speak English, and really want to help. The beds were comfortable and not as hard as is common in Germany, and the air conditioning was very welcome. The shower towels were very small, though maybe they'd give you a bigger one if you asked. We had pizza when we arrived in the evening, but it was a small, tasteless frozen pizza that had been heated up, and cost 9 euro. Apart from that, I can really recommend the hotel. Parking is fairly easy if you're willing to walk about five minutes to the large lot and pay with the Easy park application.

The rooms are tiny but comfortable, and breakfast has a generous buffet. It's a small, modern hotel in an ideal spot right in the city center. A handy option is to skip room tidying in return for two free drinks. There was a member discount when I booked, but it was no use because the website wouldn't accept my member login before booking.
