Gästehaus Bergfrieden

We got by and it was okay for us, though I would have liked the apartment to be cleaner. The terrace needs a proper scrub, and so do the extractor hood, bathroom radiator, and electrical outlets. The carpet, fridge, and stove are quite old and could do with replacing. It also took around 10 minutes for the water to get hot, which meant extreme water use. The mountain view from the terrace was beautiful, though. The apartment was functionally furnished.

The best things were the quiet location, the lovely view, and how quickly we could get to the mountain lifts. The attic apartment has some drawbacks: the only option is a bathtub that’s too small to stand in, with no shower. The children’s room is very dark with a low ceiling, and some of the furniture is old.

We spent six days here as a family. The apartment was nice and the hosts were friendly, but visits lasting more than half an hour have to be registered and paid for. Mountain lifts and buses aren’t included, even in summer, which seems usual around here. We’ll look for a place in Kleinwalsertal next time where the lifts are included.

The Daumen apartment had everything we needed, and it was nicely furnished and clean. The view from the balcony is fantastic, and the guesthouse is in a great location.
