The setting is lovely, with pleasant walks nearby and some good places to eat in the village. Our pitch was huge and had electricity, though the water was at a shared location. The toilets were clean, but I can see how they might get busy when the site fills up. There were a few avoidable frustrations. The pitch numbers weren't easy to spot, and we watched several campers drive down the wrong row, turn around, and struggle to reverse out. Simple signs on the main road would help. The Beer Garden was closed on Monday and Tuesday while we were there, with no notice, and bottles had been left around it. The bins by reception were full and smelled pretty bad. The WeWash laundry app is a good idea, but the people we saw trying to use it, including older, foreign, and non-Wi-Fi visitors, found it confusing. The Wi-Fi only worked near reception, so the review QR code in the toilets couldn't connect. That made me laugh. It's also a lively place if you enjoy dogs and screaming kids and teenagers.

We stayed in one of the barrels for a weekend and had a really good time. The toilets and showers are brand new, and the cleaning staff deserve a shout-out. Even with a rainy day, everything stayed clean. It's a great base for walks with dogs and things like that.

We came across this campsite by chance and were glad we did. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and our overnight stay in a mini campervan was a great experience. There’s lots of space, with large pitches and facilities including water, electricity, and washing machines. The place was impressively clean, especially the toilets, and there’s even a separate one for dogs. It was quiet and the location suited us perfectly. Thank you!

We had a lovely stay in the cabins. The area is great for being outdoors, whether hiking, cycling, trying via ferratas, or just enjoying nature. Azur Camping Altmühltal itself is peaceful, clean, and well looked after. Highly recommended.

The riverside setting was a real highlight for canoeing and swimming. It’s a pretty, peaceful campsite, and the pitches are a good size, with shade for a van or tent. The washrooms are modern and clean too.
