City-Hotel Kurfürst Balduin

The underground car park was very convenient, and the hotel is close to the city center. Rooms were clean, breakfast was very good, and the service was friendly throughout. I’d come back.

The location is great, and the staff were good, with a decent price too. But I didn’t find the room comfortable: the blinds facing the main road wouldn’t close all the way, the curtains didn’t cover the window, and a lot of noise came through. The beds were soft and lumpy. That’s just my opinion, and it doesn’t take away from the good service or location.

The reception staff were lovely, and the location beside the old town is convenient. Having an underground parking garage is handy if you’re arriving by car. Still, I wouldn’t choose this place for a long stay or if noise bothers you. The doors are thin and creaky, so you hear them opening all around you, and the hotel doesn’t do a good job of blocking sound. The room was OK, but the bathroom felt quite dated. The soap and shower gel came in plastic bottles that were hard to squeeze; there are plenty of economical options that are easier to use. The “double room” was two beds pushed together, as is very common in hotels now, and they easily came apart. The covers and pillows weren’t a good choice either.

The location worked perfectly for me, and even though the hotel is beside a road, I couldn't hear the traffic. The receptionist was lovely and explained everything clearly, very professionally. My room was really nice, and the air conditioning was a big help on a hot night. The bed felt a little too soft for my taste. I could also hear water running loudly in the next room, and it woke me up. One of the curtains was broken.
