Diehls Hotel

The breakfast was incredible, and the staff were very friendly. They handled both of our problems adequately, which is why I’m giving five stars. The hotel is ideally placed for Rheinsteig hikers, and the ferry makes it easy to get to the center. Our room wasn’t ready at first, but while we enjoyed a complimentary drink, they sorted that out quickly. Later we found the window wouldn’t open, and the room temperature and indoor climate were poor. No other rooms were available, so we received a discount.

After a day out, it was lovely to come back to the sauna overlooking the quiet river and the cozy pool. The hotel restaurants were excellent too, with a varied breakfast, local dishes for dinner, and wine at the Cuvée Lounge. Diehls Hotel sits right on the banks of the Rhine, with beautiful views from the generous windows or balconies. The sunrise over the water and the evening light on the waves were gorgeous. I loved having morning coffee on the terrace, looking out at the river. There’s also convenient free parking, which was a nice surprise for us traveling by car. You can walk to Deutsches Eck, where the Rhine and Moselle meet, and to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress for a great city view. Waterfront walks and cable car rides over the Rhine are also nearby. I spent a dream stay here and was captivated from the moment I arrived. See you soon!

We still had a great time and loved Koblenz. The best parts were the riverside location, lovely evening views, breakfast, the lounge bar, and the fact that it’s dog friendly. A short ferry ride takes you across to the city. The downsides were the beds, which were softer than marshmallows and left us aching, plus mismatched decor and old electrical wires sticking out in several places. Dinner was so-so.

We had a lovely stay. The rooms were very nice, the service was good, and the view outside was great. Thanks!
