We had a very nice time at Schloss Beichlingen and enjoyed wandering around the large grounds, reading all the signs about the castle’s history. It’s a lovely castle and hotel, full of fascinating history and stories. We booked on the spur of the moment and were two of just four hotel guests, so it was very quiet. The downside was that the restaurant was closed, and there are no restaurants in Beichlingen. We had to drive about 20 minutes to another town to get food at Rewe. That town had döner and pizza places, and maybe one German restaurant. We’d come back in high season, when the restaurant is open.

The staff are very friendly, and it’s a place I’d visit again. Staying in an ancient castle with a museum was great, and I enjoyed walking around and taking in the beautiful nature.

The food was always pleasant and came from the region, and the room was great and clean. It’s a magical place with really friendly staff, and an amazing 3 *** hotel. I’d recommend it. The only things that stopped me giving five stars were the weak heating in winter and the hot water sometimes being unavailable, either in the morning or afternoon. I had to check everything before getting into the shower.

06.25. 11:00 I called four times in a row, and the lady on the phone refused to speak English. Whenever she heard me speaking English, she picked up and hung up.

Historical places are my favorite, and this castle was one of the best for me. The area is fantastic, and the castle has a fabulous historical background.
