The classrooms and food were great during my week-long seminar. The bedrooms, not so much.

The setting is a big part of the appeal: there’s forest all around, and the Siebengebirge is beautiful. Drachenfels and the Rhine are both an easy trip from here. I’ve known this Catholic educational center for years, and lately the food seems to have improved a lot. Meals are fresh and generous, and the service is very friendly. The rooms and beds are plain, as you’d expect at a Catholic center, but the mattresses are good.

The food was the biggest letdown. Breakfast bread and rolls were obviously stale, and some had white stains. Meals were greasy overall, with little variety and no alternatives. The rooms are old, worn, and outdated, too. We also got no room service or fresh towels during our stay.
