Breakfast on the terrace was a favorite part of our stay. The morning sun reaches it directly, which made a lovely start to the day. We were also grateful to be able to charge our electric car at the house. The location made it easy to fit in lots of outings, from swimming at Lake Eibsee and Lake Starnberg to hiking on the Zugspitze, visiting a bike park, or going to the Erding thermal baths. All were under an hour away by car. Inside, the mezzanine above the living and dining area made cooking and spending time together especially enjoyable. The kitchen was modern and fully equipped, and the house had plenty of board games, novels, and even recent business books. The accommodation left us wanting for very little. We had a wonderful family holiday here with our two children. The hosts were exceptionally welcoming and friendly, and we felt completely at home. We’ll definitely return.

The main drawback for us was the noise at night. We’d hoped for a quiet, relaxing stay, but the heat pump in the utility room beside the downstairs bedroom started around 4 a.m. and hummed until 7. We could hear it even with earplugs, and it carried up to the bedroom upstairs. The nearby church bells also rang every hour. There’s no microwave either. If quiet nights matter to you, this may not be the right fit. There’s plenty to like about the house, and the landlord was super nice. It looks lovely inside and out, and the terrace is great for eating outdoors. The bathroom has a nice rain shower. The washing machine, oven and stove, toaster, coffee machine, dishwasher, and fridge with freezer drawers were all clean and worked properly. There are two double bedrooms downstairs and another upstairs. The rooms and beds were clean, and the soft linens smelled fresh. The living room sofa bed was good, and the dining table did the job. The TV seemed a little small from the sofa, though maybe our eyes aren’t as fresh anymore. If the noise and missing microwave don’t bother you, we can recommend it. July 24
