We had a very helpful gentleman come over when the self-check-in machine tried to charge us again for our prepaid Booking.com room. He first said the machine was working fine and that we owed about 55 euros, but after we showed him the reservation, he took us to reception. It turned out everything was in order and we only had to pay the local tax. He also gave us a history lesson and pointed out things worth seeing around the city, which we appreciated. The price was reasonable, but whether it’s worth it is a personal call. The room looked very clean at first, though there was plenty of dust and dirt under the bed. The cockroaches running around the room that evening were the worst part. The hotel itself seemed clean, but I suspect the restaurant in the building might have something to do with them, perhaps waste disposal. There was a cockroach trap in the room, but it doesn’t fix the problem and just seems to cover it up.

In room 8, the sheets were used when I went to bed. The sheet under the duvet had long, wavy black hair on it, and there was hair from intimate areas on the duvet. I pushed it all aside and used the bath towel as a sheet and my coat as a blanket. The parquet floor was dusty too. I had booked for December 31, 2022 to January 1, 2023. What exactly did I pay for?

Breakfast was amazing, and Antonio, the Manager, was really friendly and helpful. We loved our stay at this small Hotel, which was beautifully presented, comfortable, and cosy. Highly recommend it.
