Getting to the Porsche museum was easy, with a bus stop close by and only a 10-15 minute ride. Parking nearby cost just 3,50€ for 24 hours, and we didn't need to reserve a spot. We were in Stuttgart as tourists and only needed a place for one night to sleep and shower. Even though smoking was allowed on the open floor, our room had no smell, and with the door and window shut, it was so quiet I slept like a baby. The only hiccup was checking in, and that was our own mistake. There was also a gas station with a small cafeteria nearby. If you book, use the “Das Schlafwerk” homepage to get the e-keys easily.

I was surprised by how much the facilities and service offered for the price. My stay at Hotel das Schlafwerk Stuttgart was comfortably within budget and still exceeded what I expected. If you want a hotel that balances cost and quality, this is a great fit for budget-conscious travelers who still want comfort. Highly recommended.

There was a party or concert outside during our visit, with noise until 5 AM, and people testing their car speed under the windows, so it can get loud at times. A guard is on duty at night. The covered parking garage next to the accommodation had good prices, though its awkward curves took several turns to get around. Inside, everything is electronic, including the doors. I wonder what happens if the electricity or internet goes out. There's an app too, but it forgets your details when you switch off your phone. Communication is only in German, although the people at the desk can speak English. I didn't like that smoking was allowed throughout the indoor area. The rooms were clean, towels were included, and each had its own bathroom. It's one of the best value-for-money places I've stayed in.

The place had a very different feel from a regular stopover hotel. My wife and daughters and I were traveling through on vacation, and they were the only women we saw. Most of the people around seemed to be men, presumably Eastern European, often bare-chested and calling out. They seemed to work nearby, perhaps in construction. At 5 o'clock, some headed to work, and we could hear extractors starting up and chairs and beds being moved. We were on the road side, where it was noisy, but shutting the window made the room stuffy. The building's unusual design does look a bit like a prison, with its surrounding balustrades. The rooms themselves were modern, clean and nice, with a big TV and beds that were very comfortable. The shower was great, though the shower curtain looked a bit shabby. A fridge and kettle would have completed the room.

I stayed for three weeks and had a lovely time. The staff were so friendly, and they spoke English, which was a plus since I don't speak German. Rooms were basic but clean. The building is open on both sides, so the corridors always had fresh air, and there was an elevator. The large Parkhaus was very convenient and inexpensive. I paid 20 euro for 7 days, less than 3 euro a day. I'd happily book here again if I worked nearby.
