Hotel & Restaurant Hanse Kogge

The food was the highlight for us. We ate at the restaurant every day, and the dinner choices were amazing and tasty. The pool is huge, and there’s a sauna too. The rooms were neat, with a little mini bar and a modern bathroom, and the walk to the beach isn’t long. It was a worthwhile stay.

The restaurant’s decor is amazing and goes so well with the hotel and spa theme. We shared the meat platter for two with a couple of sides, and it was delicious, well prepared, and more than enough for all four of us. The service was attentive, efficient and delightful. We hope to be back soon, and recommend giving it a try.

The buffet breakfast was lavish, and the rooms are a nice place to relax, too. I loved the spa, pool and saunas, and both massages I booked were very nice. Everyone working there was polite and helpful. I even got a free upgrade, free late checkout, and a cute birthday present. For what I spent, the stay was so nice. The bathroom has soap dispensers instead of bottles, which I like. The soap works for body and hair and foams up, though if you need shampoo specifically, you may want to bring your own. The hotel is a little off the beaten path, or maybe I just picked a good time in late June, since it wasn’t too crowded. It’s a 9 minute walk to a lovely beach. I’d definitely recommend it as good value if you’re on a budget.

We only ate at the restaurant, we didn’t stay here. It was pricey, but the food was tasty and the portions were good. My wife and I both had the house fish dish, with 3 kinds of fresh local fish and fried potatoes. Our kids ordered from the childrens menu, and the staff were very accommodating with our fussy little one. They both really enjoyed their meals. Friendly staff and quick service.
