We only stayed one night, so didn't get the full experience. It seemed like bus groups came first. When we arrived, a group of staff were chatting away from the desk and only glanced over occasionally while we waited. Our room had a seven-foot-tall “lighthouse” as decoration.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was well maintained, though a bit small. Since the weather was cold, we couldn't really use the balcony, which I think would make up for the size in summer. I'd recommend renting a car instead of relying on public transport between the hotel and downtown, especially if you want to go out at night. I'll do that next time. The menu felt limited to me, and breakfast was tough for someone who doesn't eat pork and wanted vegetarian options. Still, it was a lovely place, and I'd visit again.

We were only there for one night and had arranged at check-in to get a snack box at 6 am since we'd paid for breakfast but needed to check out early. In the morning nothing was ready, and they had to refund the breakfast cost. At dinner, a woman on the restaurant staff was rude because we didn't speak German. We only saw an English menu after paying, even though one hadn't been given to us when we ordered, and the food wasn't worth it. There were some good points: the hotel provided a fan in the hot weather, the bathroom was clean, and the gym entrance staff were excellent. They gave us badminton rackets and shuttlecocks to play. Overall it wasn't a good experience for a tourist family with kids, though luckily we were only staying one night.

I stayed at the hotel for a long time, and the reception ladies knew English so well they could've been from Oxford. They spoke clearly, with an accent, and were very attentive to what guests needed. The restaurant waiters and cooks were also happy to make you feel like part of a big family. Breakfast and dinner were more than you could eat, and the food was good quality. The room was cleaned well every day, the hotel was really quiet at night, and the beds were comfortable. I'd recommend it to workers on long-term projects, families with kids who want to enjoy the pools and more, and older people looking to relax for a few days.

We were glad to find a place that met our needs on relatively short notice, especially since accessible hotels were hard to find about a month before peak summer travel. Still, we're not sure we'd stay at the Wyndham again. We booked three rooms for three nights in August. For the wheelchair user in our group, getting around was easy. There was a ramp at the entrance, wide hallways, and plenty of room in their carpet-free bedroom. It had a grab bar by the WC and an accessible shower. That part was excellent. The rooms were clean and spacious, even with an extra bed, though the dated, worn furniture badly needed updating. The hotel was easy to reach by car. The staircase was closed for repairs when we were there. The staff were friendly, but not always very helpful, and there weren't enough of them. Before booking, we wanted to know how accessible the hotel really was. Many places say they're wheelchair friendly without explaining what that means for someone relying on specific features. It took repeated calls before anyone answered. It was summer and there was no AC in the rooms, so we planned to sleep with the windows open for fresh air. That didn't work: the Shopping Center across the way was being remodeled, and they kept filling dumpsters with concrete every night starting at 11 pm. Calls to the front desk went unanswered. The next day, we were told nothing could be done. After more discussion we got the number for the city office handling noise complaints, but repeated calls there also went unanswered. The following night, we went downstairs to complain again. Night staff called the police, which brought temporary relief, but the dumping started up again about an hour later. We learned from the night staff that it had been going on for months. Maybe guests in the back rooms didn't notice, but it was impossible to ignore from the front rooms and reception, even with the windows closed. We skipped the pool because it cost extra, and didn't take breakfast because at check-in we were told it would be an additional €87 a day for all six of us. We also hadn't expected the €63 charge for “premium” parking in front of the hotel. Nobody told us about it, and there were no signs in the lot. Apparently the only free parking was way at the back, behind the swimming center. Luckily, after another discussion about the excessive noise the night before, they let the charge go.
