It has that old-fashioned kind of comfort: nothing fancy, just clean, homey and comfortable, with a real warmth to it. The restaurant was fantastic too, make sure you dine there.

The Posthaus hotel is a comfortable place to stay near the Kronberg train station, just a few minutes’ walk away in Berliner Plaza. I found it convenient for trips to Frankfurt and good value, though it doesn’t offer all the luxury or convenience of a big hotel chain. The WiFi only works on one device at a time. That took some getting used to, but I learned to pass the token from my PC to my phone so I could use apps and work. I liked the bed curtain, and the bed was comfortable. My room was large, with a single-person bed that was big enough for me. Breakfast usually included very good morning breads, assorted hams, jams and other cold dishes. There were no cooked options like scrambled eggs or sausages. I’d give it a solid 4/5 for the value and comfort.

I had a very good week here. The area is fantastic, and the rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. The reason I didn’t give five stars is the wireless connection. It’s very slow and unreliable, with disconnections even when the signal shows full coverage.

The food was good and the room was clean, but the Internet went down and the response from the front desk was really disappointing. I called for help, and a woman on the team couldn’t resolve it and shouted at me over the phone. It wasn’t friendly at all. I’m here for seven weeks, and dealing with bad Internet after work and that kind of response has left me unimpressed. If my company hadn’t booked it, I wouldn’t stay here again.
