Alpenhof Krün

What made my stay at Alpenhof in Krün stand out was how the owners handled a reservation problem on the booking.com side. They stepped in right away and went above and beyond to sort it out, so what could have been stressful turned into a comfortable, relaxing stay. Their care for guests is commendable, and I can't recommend Alpenhof enough. The hotel is beautiful and has everything you need. It's easy to reach by car, bus, or train. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and kept me going on my day hikes. I've travelled solo in the Karwendel region a few times, and this was by far my favourite stay. I hope to be back soon ❤️

The food setup was a bit of a drawback for me: half board means a four-course dinner, soup, salad, main and dessert, but there's just a vegetarian or non-vegetarian choice, with beef, chicken, or fish, and you choose at breakfast. There's no evening meal on Sunday, the staff's rest day, which is why I took off a star. Breakfast is continental with scrambled eggs, and you're assigned a table at your first meal, sometimes sharing with others, which is a nice way to meet people. I last stayed here 12 years ago, and it's had a lovely refurbishment since then. My single en suite room, number 22, was bright and airy, with a large balcony overlooking the mountains, plus a minibar/small fridge. There's a small pool and a lovely, large wellness area with saunas and steam rooms. Bathrobes are provided. There's parking for about 20 cars. I was glad I brought a fan, and the only thing I'd add is a small table on the balcony.

I went on vacation with my parents, and we were absolutely taken with the place. The views, surroundings, and rooms were all perfect. It's a beautiful hotel in a perfect location, with very friendly staff. Breakfast was amazing and had everything we needed for long days of walking and exploring. Highly recommended, and we'll definitely come back.

We ended up booking Alpenhof at the last minute after another hotel unexpectedly cancelled, and the welcome made the change easy. The host lady and the rest of the hotel employees were extremely friendly and nice. The food was fresh, varied, and delicious, and our rooms were clean and neat. My family and I had a lovely stay. Thanks for your hospitality, Alpenhof. We'd definitely recommend the place.
