The apartment didn’t match the website description or photos. It was on a busy main road, not in the green setting shown, and the bedroom faced straight onto the road. The site didn’t mention road noise, and earplugs had been left to deal with it. We had booked a non-smoking place, but the apartment smelled awful, like cigarette smoke, mold, and sewage. We weren’t willing to spend four nights with that noise and smell. When we asked the owner about another option, he attacked us personally in front of our daughter. He said not to speak badly about his house, everything was perfect, he didn’t need our money, asked if we were spoiled millionaires, and told us to cancel. We left to find another place. Cancellation wasn’t possible, but he still kept the money.

The apartments are in a very quiet spot, and the garden is amazing. The owners are incredibly friendly and always available, and the apartments are beautifully furnished. Greetsiel is nearby at 3km, with Emden and Norden (Norddeich) also close enough to make this an ideal holiday destination. I’d love to come back. The stay was fantastic.

The price-performance ratio didn’t work for us. At €60, we’re used to more; for that amount I could get a hotel with breakfast and not have to worry about things. Bed linen and final cleaning were included in the offer. I could write more and send pictures, but we’re done with these apartments. As for the details, the parking lot was right in front of the house, and cars were parked partly on the bike path. One of the two flat-screen TVs didn’t work at all, and I assume beds in a vacation rental should be freshly made. There were still wood shavings in a cupboard, a sink was dripping, the shower leaked, and the dishes were dusty. I offered to meet Ms. Vogel in person to clear things up, but got no reply. This is the first time I’ve heard from you, Mr. Kader. I’m not complaining, just stating facts. If you can’t take criticism, I’m sorry. If the windows are triple-glazed and soundproof, I’d have them checked, because we could clearly hear the street. For me, a house 3 meters from the main road isn’t what “quiet location” means. Our apartment didn’t look like the pictures. The bathroom was 1.8 x 1.8 meters, with a sink 40 cm deep, and the TV wasn’t connected. It felt more like a worker’s apartment than a vacation rental. There are some useful things here: the apartment is large, has plenty of beds, a big garden, plus a garage and parking space. It’s also been renovated, but only cheaply and on the surface, and it sits right on a busy main road. The beds are cheap and the mattresses unsuitable. There’s no way to darken the windows, no living room or comfortable seating area, and the TV is very small. The bathroom has mismatched tiles and a tiny sink, and there’s a musty smell. It could work for someone who needs lots of space for a weekend, but unfortunately it’s not right for a proper vacation.
