They waited until the day before my trip to cancel, citing “health and safety.” I’d made the booking two weeks ahead, so getting that news at the last minute was really frustrating.

We enjoyed the breakfasts and found the staff friendly. The hotel is in a charming town, and the place itself has a lot of history.

The room had no fridge, and with no elevator I had to lug my heavy suitcase up the stairs. Still, it was a nice hotel and I’d recommend staying there.

We were traveling as a small group when our tour guide missed the reservation. The staff handled the mix-up with real diplomacy and quickly worked out a solution. They even let us join the evening buffet on short notice, though it hadn’t been planned, and arranged a small breakfast for us. Thanks to the staff who stayed late into the night to help.
