We arrived early after a long trip from the USA, tired and hungry. Our host took us straight to our room and arranged a lovely breakfast in the dining room. We could nap afterwards and wake up rested at noon. The place was spotless, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I'd recommend this hotel.

The location is spot on, and the team is excellent.

We booked the suite and were surprised by how spacious it was: two bathrooms, a kitchen, dining table, and rooftop terrace, with tasteful furnishings throughout. Breakfast was generous and served in the vaulted cellar. The rooftop view of the nearby castles was a real highlight. Only small downside, there’s no elevator up to the third floor.

The room was large and actually furnished quite nicely, but the towels were so cheap that paper towels might have been better. The building was noisy, too. What seemed to be staff family stayed above us, and a child drove a toy car overhead all day, so sleeping in was out of the question. We skipped breakfast. For €142, I expect more, especially since I can get a 4-star hotel in a major city for that price. Service was practically nonexistent. Check-in was unfriendly: the man didn't even look at us, just tossed over the key and registration forms. At 10:45 a.m. checkout, nobody was there. We waited because we still had to pay for parking, then put our suitcases away when no one came. A woman we found spoke only a little of the local language, so she called a man, who announced over the loudspeaker that parking had to be paid in cash because the card reader was broken. Luckily the room was already paid. We only had large bills, and the woman told us to get change at a kebab shop. Seriously? We left. Lesson learned, I'm not staying anywhere below 4 stars again.

It looks so plain from outside, but inside it’s a real little gem. The rooms are lovely, and the breakfast room is fantastic. I’ve hardly ever seen a hotel where so much care has gone into the details.
