I came away from the hunting school with a lot of gratitude. The training was thorough and practical, and the mix of that, the living traditions, the welcoming atmosphere, the excellent food, and my loyal companion Fritzchen made the stay unforgettable. I'd choose this school again in a heartbeat and wholeheartedly recommend it. Fritzchen stayed by my side throughout, brought many lovely moments, and became an essential part of the experience. This time simply wouldn't have been the same without him. The rooms were clean, cozy, and quiet, a real treat after intensive training days, and I quickly felt at home in the warm atmosphere. From the first day, I felt at ease professionally and personally, and with my hunting skills. The well-structured instruction was delivered with great passion. It went beyond exam material, covering responsibility, respect for wildlife, and the values of hunting. Traditions weren't just talked about; they were truly lived. Etiquette and camaraderie mattered a lot and made the experience especially precious. The meals were another highlight, fresh, varied, and carefully prepared. The beautifully kept, extensive garden is a lovely place to spend time, and in good weather you can try regional specialties, game, and Thai food. The location is very quiet, and the rooms are spacious and furnished in an authentic style.

The cookbook is missing the banana soup recipe, which was simply brilliant, but the hostess brought me a copy at breakfast the next morning after I mentioned it to the waitstaff. That kind of thoughtfulness is what makes this place special. I was so pleased that I bought the chef and host's cookbook, and my husband loved the game dishes. The small restaurant serves high-quality Thai cuisine, with prices that seem fair for the food and setting. We enjoyed two days and nights of our hosts' hospitality. The hotel is peacefully set in a beautiful park in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, though because of the weather we could only admire it from the window. The decor really suits the name "hunting lodge," and the rooms are individually furnished and cozy. The floorboards creak and groan constantly, so that part gets only four stars from us. Everything else was very clean and well maintained, and the hosts' love for their castle and genuine hospitality came through. We're delighted and will return!

The seasonal, regional game dishes are extremely tasty, and there's international food too, including Thai. Always worth the trip!
