Ferienland Sonnenwald

It's quiet and never feels crowded, and the grounds are well kept. The Bavarian Forest views are stunning. Apartments come in different styles, depending on the owner's taste, with balconies or terraces. There's seating, loungers, and a barbecue in the garden, and the prices feel fair for what you get.

The setting is fantastic, and the Ranzinger inn took care of our meals. Our type B apartment was clean, had a lovely balcony with a great view, and was otherwise perfectly fine. But the furnishings were really worn. The coat hooks were broken, the bedside lampshade crooked, and the curtain rods came loose at the slightest touch. The carpet had old stains, though they weren't sticky, and the mattresses were worn out. Worse, the mattresses, duvets, and pillows were covered in stains and hair. We brought our own duvets and pillows with covers, so the dirty bedding bothered us a little less. Bed linen and towels cost extra. The owner should perhaps think about renovating.

Apartment 38 had everything we needed, even a robot vacuum and a Thermomix. We had a wonderful stay and would happily come back.

The view is fantastic, and the food from the menu was very good. We couldn't get a room, so we stayed across the street, but came over every morning for a generous, really good breakfast. The staff were very friendly and the service was lovely. Highly recommended!
