The restaurant’s worth a visit too. Dinner was delicious and a lovely way to end the day, and breakfast set me up well for the next stretch of hiking. I stayed overnight after completing the first leg of the Nibelungen Trail and got a room at short notice after a brief, friendly phone call. I was very happy with it. I’d recommend the place to hikers and other guests.

The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the German food is tasty, with generous portions. The rooms are very tidy. It’s a lovely inn with two guesthouses, though the inn itself is about 800 meters away. Keep it up! I’d love to come back.

The rooms and breakfast were okay, but we wouldn’t recommend the place or book it again. We’d arranged to collect our key before check-in because we were going to a nearby wedding that started earlier. The owner had seemed fine with this on the phone, but he wasn’t there at the agreed time. We nearly missed the wedding, and only got the key after waiting despite being repeatedly told he’d be there shortly. Then we were asked to pay, even though Booking.com had charged our card days earlier. That felt strange and unprofessional. We got no apology, only an accusation that we hadn’t followed the normal check-in time. Check-in began at 2 pm, and we’d arrived 45 minutes early just to pick up the key. We’ve never encountered such rudeness. It was disappointing and a real shame.

It was nothing like our first visit, and we left early. The rooms hadn’t been cleaned, the owner was very unfriendly, and they charged us €2 extra per night. I visited recently and unfortunately wouldn’t recommend it anymore.
