We came here for dinner. The Gasthaus zum Odenwald has a lovely setting and nice decor, and the service was friendly. The menu is quite limited these days, though. Several dishes seem to be ready-made, definitely the Maultaschen, and I’m fairly sure the schnitzels are too. They taste pretty good for convenience food, but I don’t think the price matches what you get. For the same money, you can find more choice and home-cooked food elsewhere.

The schnitzels were delicious, and the portions were generous. We found a table for four without booking after our hike, though it was outside peak hours. The place is well maintained and serves food all day. Service was friendly, and the wait for the meal was reasonable. The side salad was fresh and tasty, and they have homemade cake if you fancy dessert. Everything was perfect, and we’ll definitely come back! 🫶🤗

After a great hike, we had a delicious meal in the comfortably furnished restaurant. The dishes were nicely presented and well seasoned, though we did have to wait a bit patiently for the food. Drinks came promptly and we were served quickly. We tried venison bratwurst, cheese spaetzle (even half a portion was already large...), cooked cheese schnitzel, baked potatoes with quark and salad, classic and vegetarian Maultaschen (ravioli), side salads, and cake for dessert. The young waiters were exceptionally friendly and very attentive.
