Landhotel Kuralpe Kreuzhof

The hotel and breakfast were very good. I ate at the restaurant twice, though, and neither meal was amazing. For me, it’s a five for the hotel and a four for the restaurant.

I was pleasantly surprised when I met a friend here. It feels like a relaxed spot in the countryside despite being so close to the city. There’s lots of space outdoors, it’s green, and there are plenty of tables, with parking for cars and bikes. It seemed there was a wedding going on at the same time. A good experience.

The breakfast buffet was great, and the hotel is very clean, with large rooms and nice bathrooms with strong water pressure. It’s in a rural setting. There’s no AC, which was a bit rough during the recent European heat wave, though the room was absolutely fine at night.

There’s a kids’ playground, which can be a real relief for parents, and we often suggest parking here before walking up to the felsenmeer, then coming back for lunch or dinner. On summer days, the beer garden is a great place to sit for a few hours. The place is enormous, with lots of tables inside and out. Food quality is high, though maybe a little pricey. Service is fairly efficient, but can be slow or casual at times. The clientele tends to be a bit older most days. It’s an unusual place.
