The older landlords were kind and helpful, but the apartment itself was disappointing and needs renovation, with better attention to safety and cleanliness. There was general waste in the bathroom bin, and the smoke detector had been taken apart and left on a cabinet, possibly without a battery. One outlet had no cover. The only way out was a narrow, steep staircase around a corner, which could be an issue in an emergency. The bathroom was screened only by a curtain, so there was little privacy. The furnishings seemed very dated, possibly from when the building was constructed in 1981. The bed for two was no more than 140 cm wide, with no slatted frame, just a mattress on a wooden platform beneath a sloping ceiling. To get out, you had to climb over your partner. It was funny at first, but a real nuisance in the middle of the night. There was no kettle, coffee maker, or television either. We wondered if this place was rented when the house was overbooked, since it felt more like an alternative to sleeping in the car. Overall, the stay didn’t meet our expectations.

The place was beautifully designed and very clean. It’s simply furnished but works well, and the older gentleman hosting us was kind and friendly and took great care of us. I’d definitely stay again.

They don’t seem to bother issuing invoices. When I asked, I was simply ignored. Not a good choice if you’re traveling for business and need an invoice. What a shame.

Mr. Sippel takes wonderful care of his guests and has plenty of recommendations. It’s a lovely, friendly place to stay, right in central Leck and well placed for lots of excursions.
