Our daughter was thrilled by the horses, chickens, playground, and all the fresh air. We were traveling with a baby, and the staff made us feel very welcome, took care of our special needs, and suggested some good day trips nearby. They also spoke very good English. We were lucky to find a room at the last minute, and had a wonderful stay.

The service was friendly, charming, and helpful, and breakfast was simple but really enjoyable. The scrambled eggs were made from real eggs, not powder. We stayed in the annex, where the room was spacious and modern, with a romantic view of the countryside, and it was completely quiet. We were surprised to find a Gin Tonic menu at the bar. The local gin with kumquats was excellent, and the glass straw was a nice touch instead of plastic.

The mattresses could have been a little better, but otherwise we found almost everything perfect. The place is in a lovely spot outside Kiel, the restaurant is very good, and the service felt personal and welcoming.

It's a quiet place on the way out of Preetz, with nice decoration, though the atmosphere didn't feel very good. The employees seemed afraid of the owner, and she treats them like slaves.
