Hotel Dorfmühle

We were five family members stopping for a night on our way to Slovakia, and Hotel Dorfmühle worked out perfectly. The surroundings are beautiful, and we slept comfortably in the beds. Breakfast was fresh and nicely laid out. Such a relaxing, pleasant stop.

The grounds are lovely, and the hotel looks beautiful from outside, with an old-fashioned feel and modern touches. I can imagine it being especially nice in summer. My room was pet friendly, with lots of space and paths for walking the dog. Breakfast was served in a gorgeous, cosy room, with a small but adequate choice of bread, cold meats, cheeses, eggs and even lachs. The attendant was attentive and quick to help everyone. The room itself was disappointing. After reading so many reviews I expected somewhere comfortable, but it was dirty and unpleasant, and I couldn't tell whether it had been cleaned before I arrived. It was cold, wet and rainy outside, and the heat was off, so I had to wait for the room to warm up. Once it did, it felt warm and nice. Housekeeping was hit or miss during my stay. On the first day they changed the towels, on the second only one towel was changed, and on the third there was no service at all. I wasn't sure whether staff were entering to clean and restock or just check on the room. I understand day three was a federal holiday, but I would have liked notice about reduced housekeeping. Maybe peak season is better, when there are more things going on and more staff available to keep an eye on cleanliness.

After a week on BT sleeping in outdated German hotels, this felt like an oasis. I'd give it 10/10. The room was peaceful and quiet, I slept really well, and the people were nice too. Lovely views in the morning. I'll come back.

A quiet, comfortable spot right in the village center. Nice rooms and friendly staff.
