B&B Hotel Leipzig-Nord

The hotel was useful because it sits right outside the environmental zone, so I didn’t need to get the green car sticker in time. It also has a large parking lot. But when we arrived at 7 PM, our booked family room hadn’t been cleaned: there were used towels in the bathroom, unmade beds, and the air conditioning was set to 21 degrees Celsius. They moved us to two double rooms because no other family room was available. Luckily, the kids are old enough to sleep in a separate room. The night receptionist was one of the least friendly people in Leipzig. He didn’t apologize and wasn’t very communicative. Breakfast cost extra and was okay at €13.50 per person, and parking was another €5 per night. If I’d had the green sticker, I could have found cheaper and better options.

I’ve booked B&B hotels for years when taking short trips, and I’ll always check their offer wherever I go. They have good service, delicious breakfasts, clean rooms, and quiet surroundings. It’s a perfect place to spend a night while traveling, close to the main highways so we could get back on our trip straight away the next day.

The location worked perfectly for us, and parking was very convenient. There were a couple of service hiccups: we were asked to pay for breakfast even though a coupon included it, which was disappointing. The breakfast selection was a little limited, but decent enough.

The room was roomy and clean, and having a proper chair made working on my laptop much nicer than using the usual stools. Parking was easy, with a supermarket and fast food nearby, though I didn't spot any restaurants. Finding the hotel was less straightforward. My satnav put it about 1.5 km farther down the road, and I drove past without seeing it tucked behind trees on the other side of a railway track. There were no signs pointing out the turn into the commercial area.
