Hotel Merseburger Hof

I've stayed here several times for work, and the low price is among the best I found. The single room wasn't luxurious, but it was clean and tidy, perfectly fine for what it cost. Check-in and checkout were straightforward, and reception and the emergency number always responded quickly and helpfully. Getting there was easy too. From the main station it's one tram ride, about 15 minutes, then a 50-metre walk. The tram runs every 10-15 minutes, even late at night, so the connection to the station and downtown is great. Can only recommend.

A very good hotel for the price, with a clean and comfortable room. I took a star off for the room because the TV sits beside the bed, making it less comfortable to watch while lying down. There was no kettle or fridge either, which would have made things easier. On Sunday, breakfast ran from 7 to 10am, earlier than I'd have liked.

It's a nice little hotel with good prices. When I arrived, there was no one who spoke German or English, so talking to the staff was a bit difficult, but we managed. They were really friendly anyway.

There were ants all over the breakfast table and in the food. The lift wasn't working, and the room didn't have enough power outlets for charging. Even though I didn't put up a 'do not clean' sign, the room wasn't cleaned. In the bathroom, the soap dispenser was broken and the soap was useless. The bath was quite different from the photo too. When I showered, water pooled around my feet and turned the whole bathroom into a lake. The place felt more like a hostel.
