I should've checked the hours before booking, but a four-hour check-in window from 16:00 to 20:00 is unreasonable. They should offer self check-in or refund a fair amount. For my €55 booking, I got back just €2.75. Are you kidding? It doesn't matter how good the hotel is if the basics aren't handled.

We arrived 30 minutes late for check-in, but the owner had already shut the door and didn't wait. He wouldn't listen or respond to us. Leipzig had a major match on, and every hotel was full, so we ended up spending the night at the bus station.

The room itself was fine, but there was just one plastic cup for water and no soap or anything to wash our hands, never mind anything for a shower. There was no useful information either. Staff were around only for a few hours; check-in was listed from 16:00, but the woman didn't arrive until 16:30. I asked her for the Wi-Fi code and she said she'd leave a note in the room. No note, no Wi-Fi, and nobody available to complain to. The odd part is they did have staff to call us 20 minutes after checkout time and say we were late and had to pay for late checkout. This place is a trap, worse than a forest fire.

They charged me when I booked, but check-in was only possible from 16:00 to 20:00. When I asked to change the time, they said it wasn't their problem. The owner speaks no language other than German, drops calls, and, when I reached the hotel, pushed me away and said it was my problem. He shut the door in my face and said he'd call the police. I had to sleep at Central coach like a homeless person because no hotels were available that day at any price. I filed a statement with the police, and when I get home I'll write to all the Leipzig government organizations about this. I've visited 23 countries and slept in over 50 hotels, and this is the first time I've had an experience like this.
