Premier Inn Leipzig City Hahnekamm Hotel

The location is perfect, but this didn't meet the Premier Inn standard I expected. Our twin beds were pushed together at first, so we had to rearrange the room. The room and bathroom are both small, and there’s no closet, just a few hangers. The blackout curtains share one rail, which makes them pretty much pointless.

The reception lounge feels cozy and elegant, and the staff were super nice. Breakfast was tasty and had a decent amount of variety. Very good for the price. Thanks for a lovely stay ❤🙂

The room was spotless and comfortable, with free coffee and tea, soap and shampoo, and good beds and pillows. A fridge would have been useful, though. We paid just €65 for one night in a top-floor room, which was a great price. Parking was secure in a locked, gated garage with CCTV. It cost €22, but with the car full of valuables, I wanted it off the street. I've been to Leipzig many times, and it feels like the city has got worse with migration, so I didn't feel the car was safe on the street. If you have a nice car and luggage inside, the garage is ideal. The hotel is well located next to hauftbahnhof and the city centre. One big disappointment was the receptionist, who didn't know a single word of English. It's 2025, and this is an international city full of students and visitors. I expected hotel front desk staff to speak English. The woman got angry and yelled at me for not speaking German when I asked for someone who could speak English. I'm a tourist, not a resident. I'm Dutch and understand some basic German, but that wasn't enough. The receptionist acted as if it were still 1989, before the wall came down, saying, “nein keine Engels - nur deutch.” The hotel was otherwise perfect, but this needs to improve.

The staff were fabulous, and the location is excellent for the train station. Parking is great once you find it, though finding it is nearly impossible. Breakfast was good but too expensive. The rooms don't offer more than a travel lodge, and ours was tiny. With the sofa bed pulled out, there was no space for our suitcases, so it was impossibly small for a family. We booked for three, but still only got two cups and glasses, with nothing extra provided for the third person. Not good value at all.
