Staycity Aparthotels Leipzig City Centre

I’d stayed here for years and always liked the rooms and the hotel. Sadly, it now feels like a party hotel, in the worst Mallorca style. On Monday night, the music was extremely loud until midnight, and our room was terrible for it. The windows and doors were actually vibrating. I called reception and invited them to come hear it, but they said they and management already knew. It was a really hard night with three kids, especially since we had to get up early and drive 700 km the next day.

Techno music went on all night, and I couldn’t sleep. Young guys were hanging around the hallways and outside doors. As a woman, I didn’t feel fully safe, especially when some of them seemed to follow people through the doors into the hotel, whether they were staying there or not. I’m angry I paid for a room and now have to be at the airport in a couple of hours without having slept.

The room looked clean until we went to make coffee this morning. Taking the water tank out of the coffee machine released a horrible smell across the room. It was full of worms, and the rotten egg stench was overwhelming. The experience was so awful I feel nauseous now. I spoke with Josefine from the hotel today (3.9.2025) about what happened. I’m glad the hotel got in touch and treated the problem seriously. Things happen, but what matters is giving them attention and showing you care.

The room itself had plenty of space, a nice bathroom, and we slept well. The breakfast was pretty good, though we wouldn’t have paid the full price for it. The receptionist we spoke to about the problems acted quickly, resolved most of them, and kindly offered free breakfast as an apology. Our first impression was mixed because the apartment was disappointingly dirty. There were often sticky marks on the floor, and the couch looked disgusting. Many bulbs were broken, especially around the kitchen, leaving it too dark to use after sunset. Everything else was decent. I can’t wholeheartedly recommend Staycity Apartments, but it’s an affordable option if you want to be near the city center.
